Mahmoud Abbas recently repeated one of his favorite and most preposterous libels: Israel pushes drugs on Palestinians to ruin their future.
According to Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, “The occupation [Israel] plants corruption among us. We see substances like drugs and spoiled goods, because they want to fight our existence. They don’t want us to have a future.”
As Palestinian Media Watch reported, Abbas made these remarks at the opening an “international conference on corruption” earlier this month.
In reality, the PA is mired in corruption at every level, all the way to the top, with Abbas serving in the fourteenth year of a four-year term as president. Whether the Palestinians will ever hold elections again remains to be seen.
