Netanyahu and Friedman attended an event marking the deployment in Israel of a new highly-advanced anti-ballistic missile defense system.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu toured a site in southern Israel where the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system was just deployed.

The THAAD system, formerly known as Theater High Altitude Area Defense, is a U.S.-developed anti-ballistic missile defense system capable of downing short-, medium-, and intermediate-range ballistic missiles by intercepting them with a “hit-to-kill” approach.
