Prime Minister Netanyahu has faced a great deal of criticism over comments he made prior to the elections. Bill Maher came to his defense.
On the day of the elections, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned voters that droves of Arabs were being brought in to vote. He also stated that there will be no two-state solution under his leadership.
US President Obama condemned Netanyahu’s campaign statements, describing them as “cynical, divisive election day tactics.” He added that the US “needs to rethink our approach” towards the two-state solution and relations with Israel.
Famous American comedian/political commentator Bill Maher defended Netanyahu on his recent show. The consensus among the participants was that the Israeli leader is more concerned about the survival of Israel than his own political future. As Maher says in the clip, perspective is needed to understand what the prime minister meant.
