Two state-of-the-art, all-terrain 4×4 ATVs – donated to the Israeli Border Police’s elite Yatar unit through UWI’s generous donors – were showcased at a special ceremony honoring the combatants, who are all volunteers.

Yatar, an elite counter-terror volunteer force under the command of Magav, Israel’s Border Police, was established to work hand-in-hand with security intelligence units and special commando forces to prevent and combat terror.

Specialized, state-of-the-art, compact, all-terrain 4×4 ATVs that maneuver in tight spaces are Yatar’s “secret weapon,” designed to pursue and capture terrorists before they attack.

Last week, United with Israel (UWI) staff participated in a festive ceremony honoring Yatar’s volunteers, where four new ATVs were showcased – two of them thanks to UWI’s generous donors.

Border Police Commander Yaakov Shabtai, in a moving address to the crowd, explained that the dedicated Yatar volunteers risk their lives and are as valuable to Israel’s security as the soldiers serving on the front lines.

Shabtai expressed profound gratitude to United with Israel and all of the donors, stressing how desperately the ATVs are needed to protect communities throughout the country.

The event provided a special opportunity for UWI staff to meet Shabtai along with other influential members of the security forces.

Michael Gerbitz, founder and director of UWI, said he was humbled by the courage and self-sacrifice shown by the Yatar volunteers.

“Helping these brave fighters, who dedicate themselves to the Jewish people and the security of the state day in and day out, is our privilege,” he stated.

The program included a delicious buffet dinner and a film showing the ATVs in action as well as a musical performance by Magav singers featuring patriotic songs highlighting their profound love for Jerusalem and the State of Israel.

United with Israel’s campaign to provide more of specialized anti-terror vehicles is ongoing.

UWI encourages its friends and followers to support this most worthy cause generously, as these ATVs can stop terrorists before they attack and save innocent lives.
