For the first time, the UN Secretary General, UN officials, ambassadors from all over the world and senior Jewish leaders, gathered to partake in the Jewish tradition of “tashlikh.”

“Tashlikh” is a tradition after Rosh Hashana, the Jewish new year, in which Jews throw pieces of bread into a body of water to symbolize the tossing away of their sins

It is thus gratifying and ironic to witness the UN fulfilling this tradition, considering the world body’s extremely unfair treatment of Israel.

Perhaps this is a sign of good things to come? We’ll find out soon enough.

Next year, they should do “Tashlikh” in Israel!
