As the Hebrew month of Tammuz is upon us, this musical tribute recalls the destruction of the Holy Temple and the 2000-year Jewish exile.

The 17th day of the Hebrew month of Tammuz, which falls each year in the summer, begins a three-week mourning period, when the Jewish people lament the destruction of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

This beautiful song, titled “Babylon,” was composed by Canadians who have made Aliyah – immigration to Israel. It reflects thousands of years of yearning by the Jewish People for the Holy City of Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, the Land of Israel is being renewed each and every day. The exiles are returning and its cities no longer lie desolate. The words of the prophets are coming true right before our very eyes.

Enjoy this video and experience the love for Jerusalem felt by immigrants who have returned to the ancient Jewish homeland and the eternal Jewish capital.
