The strength of these families is remarkable. Let us all try to follow their example and honor the memory of the three boys by helping to make the world a better place.

Israelis across the political and religious spectrum were united in grief when teenagers Gilad Shaer, Naftali Fraenkel and Eyal Yifrach were kidnapped and murdered by Hamas terrorists in June 2014.

Since then, their mothers have embarked on several projects promoting Jewish unity and love – “ahavat chinam” – in Israel and around the world.

Most recently, Bat-Galim Shaer distributed sweets in an Israeli hospital and other locations across the country on Gilad’s birthday. Gilad liked baking and partaking in sweets, she said, so this is a special way to commemorate him.
