President Reuven Rivlin traveled to Denmark to mark the 75th anniversary of the rescue of that country’s Jews from the Holocaust.

Seventy-five years ago, during the Nazi occupation, Danish fisherman risked their own lived by smuggling thousands of Jews to safety in neutral Sweden.

It is estimated that their courageous lifesaving effort, in December 1043, saved 95% of the 7800 Danish Jews from the Holocaust.

President Reuven Rivlin traveled to Denmark to thank the Danish people on the anniversary of the rescue of Jews from the Nazis.
