US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro toured a powerful naval destroyer ship that the US Navy stationed in the eastern Mediterranean Sea in 2010 in order to help Israel defend itself.

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Porter (DDG 78) is a naval ship that the United States deployed in order to help protect Israel against missiles from Iran, Syria and Lebanon.

It’s a nice complement to Israel’s existing defense systems, such as the Iron Dome and the upcoming David’s Sling.

The crew of USS Porter had just finished a training exercise with the Israeli Navy, which left them very impressed.
