An Israeli NGO working to preserve Israeli heritage sites from the beginning of modern Zionism is hosting hundreds of events this week across the country.

In this video, Tamar Tuchler, head of the international relations department of the Council for Conservation of Heritage Sites, explains the importance of maintaining historical buildings and areas significant to the modern State of Israel.

This week, in celebration of Israel’s Heritage Week, the non-profit organization is hosting tours and hundreds of events across the country, from the Upper Galilee to Tel Aviv and Be’er Sheva, focusing on sites from the 19th and 20th centuries.

The Council hopes to encourage the public to be a part of the process. Watch and hear more about this interesting initiative!
