Staff Sergeant Hadas Malka. (Israel Police)

With more than 500 female soldiers having given their lives to protect Israel since its establishment, take a moment to reflect on their courage and dedication to the Jewish state.

Last summer, a 23-year-old IDF soldier named Hadas Malka was fatally stabbed in a terrorist attack while she was on duty protecting the Old City of Jerusalem.

Malka is one of more than 500 female soldiers who have been killed in combat operations in Israel during the last half century.

On Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day, the nation honors the brave soldiers who perished protecting the Jewish state and all of its citizens, regardless of race, religion or creed.
