OrCam

A revolutionary high-tech camera developed by an Israeli team at Hebrew University cannot only “see” – but even “read” – for the visually impaired.

The OrCam camera device is considered to be one of Israel’s top advances in vision technology. Developed by Hebrew University professor Amnon Shashua, it attaches easily to a pair of glasses and uses what is called “bone conduction technology”.

By simply pointing at objects, the camera tell the wearer exactly who or what is in front of them. The miracle device uses facial recognition technology and also has the ability to recognize traffic lights and even read text.
