A ceremony in memory of IDF soldier Oron Shaul, whose body is being held by Hamas in Gaza, was interrupted by a missile that apparently targeted the event.

A missile fired from Gaza interrupted a ceremony marking the would-be 24th birthday of fallen IDF soldier Oron Shaul, whose body is being held by Hamas. Shaul lost his life in the summer of 2014 during Operation Protective Edge.

The incident occurred shortly before noon on Friday, when Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system blocked two missiles fired into Israel. A third landed in a community bordering Gaza.

In the video, the crowd attending the ceremony, lying on the ground at the sound of the red alert siren, was told not to panic and, after a few minutes, to walk calmly to a designated area.
