A senior advisor to Mahmoud Abbas recently urged Palestinians to get their “heads chopped off” instead of making peace with Israel.
Mahmoud Habbash, a top “religious” advisor to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, said in a recent Friday sermon aired on Palestinian TV that any Arab or Muslim who works within the framework of President Donald Trump’s Mideast peace plan “will pay the price for treason.”
Habbash is well known for inciting Palestinians to violence and this speech was no different, with fiery references to martyrdom and exhortations to die rather than acquiesce to a peace plan.
Let’s hope voices of moderation, reconciliation, and peace emerge from the Palestinian leadership, instead of the same broken record of violence, terror, and intransigence.
