To celebrate the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., two a cappella groups join, in what would normally seem an unlikely collaboration, to perform a cover version of the classic James Taylor song, “Shed a Little Light.”

The Maccabeats, a Jewish a cappella group, are known for their catchy tunes to Jewish themes. Naturally 7 is an African-American a cappella group who have been on the music scene for over 15 years.

Both groups can masterfully reproduce instrument-like sounds with only their mouths, taking their melodies and harmonies to a different level.

This beautiful song encapsulates the message that Martin Luther King spread in his famous “I have a dream” speech.

Let’s internalize this message of peace and unity and spread it to everyone we know.
