Yom Yerushalayim – Jerusalem Reunification Day commemorates the return of the holy city into the hands of its rightful guardians, the Jewish people.

Today is Yom Yerushalayim, a day that commemorates the reunification of the holy city of Jerusalem and the return of sovereignty to the Jewish people. The day has been celebrated each year, since 1968 on the Hebrew date of the 28th of Iyar.

Masses attend festive prayer services at the Kotel (Western Wall) as well as synagogues throughout the nation of Israel.

“Praying at the Western Wall on Jerusalem Day is an exhilarating experience, very inspiring!” shared Michael Gerbitz, CEO of United With Israel. “The excitement and positive energy of thousands of Jews coming together to celebrate the return of Jewish sovereignty to our eternal capital is so beautiful to see and be part of. The modern-day miracles of Israel continue to unfold before our eyes!”
