U.N. peacekeepers in Lebanon have been denied access to attack tunnels stretching into Israel, despite promises to the contrary after the subterranean terror routes were discovered.
After the IDF launched Operation Northern Shield to destroy Hezbollah-built attack tunnels extending into Israel from Lebanon, it demanded the UN peacekeeping force fulfill its mandate and assist in the efforts.
Members of the IDF Northern Command Combat Engineering Corps are digging trenches and erecting a fence around the seven-mile-long area of Har Dov (also known as the Shebaa Farms) — a strip of land at the intersection of the Lebanese-Syrian border and the Israeli Golan Heights.
