In less than 24 hours over 100,000 British citizens have signed a petition calling on the government to cut its spending of billions on foreign aid, some of which goes to the corrupt Palestinian Authority and Palestinian terrorists.

The Daily Mail launched the petition following an investigation it published on Sunday revealing the shocking ways in which foreign aid is spent on paying Palestinian terrorists, including £8 million ($11.31 million) on a palace built by Palestinian Authority (PA) head Mahmoud Abbas.

According to British law, the government in now bound to debate the issue in parliament, as it is compelled to do so on any petition signed by 100,000 or more citizens.

Former Tory Chancellor Lord Lawson and columnist Piers Morgan are among those who have added their voices to the support for the campaign, which has drawn an amazing 150 signatories a minute.

The Mail’s report found that part of the annual £12 billion in foreign aid spent by the Department for International Development (DfID) goes to convicted Palestinian terrorists via the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

Some of the funds were found to be spent on Palestinian jobs that do not exist. Civil servants in Gaza are funded by Western aid, even though they haven’t had jobs since 2007.

Other handouts have been used to teach British folk songs around the world and to fund a BBC Somali radio drama which provided practical tips for illegal migrants journeying to Europe, while millions of pounds of British taxpayer money are given to aid organizations in the US – the wealthiest country on earth.

The petition calls on the UK government to scrap the law requiring it to spend a fixed 0.7 per cent of national wealth on foreign aid, with the current figure of £12 billion set to rise to £16 billion by 2020.

“Rather than helping people who desperately need it, much of this money is wasted and the Great British Giveaway fuels corruption, funds despots and corrodes democracy in developing nations,” the petition reads.

The Palestinian leadership is notoriously corrupt and is suspected of embezzling millions in foreign aid.
