“Side by side, 10 navies came together for the biggest international exercise that the Israeli Navy has ever hosted,” the IDF tweeted.
Ten navies from around the world – the U.S., France, Greece, Cyprus, Chile, Italy Germany, Canada, the U.K. and NATO – participated in “Mighty Waves,” an international naval exercise led by Israel’s navy in which they practiced a scenario simulating the aftermath of a major earthquake.
The five-day exercise, which took place off the coast of Haifa, concluded Monday. It included hundreds of troops on six ships as well as five helicopters.
Mighty Waves was the largest-ever drill led by the Israeli navy.
