The Israeli Air Force hit four Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip in response to rocket attacks launched at southern communities late Friday evening.

Red-alert sirens sounded throughout Sha’ar HaNegev – the western Negev region, bordering Gaza – and the southern city of Sderot after 11 pm Friday night when multiple rockets were launched at southern Israel from the Gaza Strip.

Two rockets exploded in open areas in Israel. There were no injuries or damage.

It appears that more rockets were fired, but landed in Gaza.

Israeli Air Force (IAF) planes responded by targeting two Hamas military training facilities and two military sites in Gaza.

Branches of the Islamic State claimed responsibility.

Gaza is ruled by Hamas. The IDF said in a statement that it “holds Hamas responsible and accountable for all attacks emanating from the Gaza Strip.”
