The Islamic Republic’s army is ready for war with the US and the Western allies, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander, Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, said. He also deplored certain Arab states for their “disgraceful support for Israel.”

“For years, we have been building power on the presumption of a widespread war with the US and its allies, and have developed all our capacities and capabilities for decisive victories over such enemies,” Jafari said on Tuesday in a gathering of senior IRGC commanders in Tehran, Iran’s Tasnim news reported.

“Before political and diplomatic options, we have gotten prepared for a military option,” Jafari underlined.

While saying that Iran does not welcome war, he also said that Iran viewed a military confrontation “as an opportunity,” reiterating that the US will not be able “to do a damn thing.”

Echoing repeated statements by Iran’s leadership, Jafari pledged that Iran will press ahead with its missile program, saying new missiles with more accuracy and destructive power will continue to be mass produced.

Iran has recently violated UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions several times when it tested medium-range missiles. The UNSC is now pursuing venues for penalising Iran, and the US has levelled new sanctions against Iran’s missile program.

The Iranian general also highlighted the IRGC’s extensive plans to “show appropriate reaction” to “stupid conducts” by the US’ Arab allies.

“Regimes like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and their peers are symbols of modern political underdevelopment, and the IRGC… has made preparations for response to their rudeness and stupid behavior, which stems from (their) reliance on the US power,” Jafari threatened.

He also deplored certain Arab states for their “disgraceful support for Israel” as well as “the killing of innocent people in Yemen and Palestine,” threatening that “Arab nations will soon seek revenge.”
