Focus on your constituency and stop bashing Israel, Likud’s Ayoub Kara tells Arab colleagues.

Member of Knesset (MK) Ayoub Kara, a member of Israel’s Druze minority, has called on Arab parliamentarians from the Joint Arab List to stop attacks against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and, rather, to focus on their duties to the public.

“Arab Knesset members said that people voting for any Zionist party are ‘garbage’ and no one said anything,” he declared on Wednesday in an interview with Arutz Sheva.  “Now it’s time for action, and I offer them to join the coalition and help out Arab citizens.”

“All of these assaults, and saying they’re representing Palestine and Gaza, it is not giving them anything,” he added.

Several Arab MKs have been engaging in anti-Israel activity. Former MK Azmi Bashara, for example, fled Israel in 2007 after being charged with spying for the Hezbollah terror organization.

More recently, the Knesset voted to ban MK Hanin Zoabi from running in the 2015 elections because of her support for terror and her vicious criticism of Israel. Israel’s High Court of Justice overturned the decision and she was re-elected.

Arab MKs have been criticized by their own constituents for their anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian agenda and for abandoning their own community.

Kara, who is serving in Netanyahu’s Likud party, also suggested that the prime minister appoint a non-Jewish minister to the new government.

“There must be appointed a minister who is Druze, Christian or Bedouin – someone who served in the IDF and shows that we walk together with those who walk with us,” he urged. “The prime minister must appoint non-Jewish ministers in the government who are loyal to the State of Israel and who want to develop the Arab sector [in order] to unite all those who live here.”
