On Sunday, UN Ambassadors from across the globe joined Israel’s Ambassador to the UN at the Celebrate Israel Parade in New York.

Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, headed a diplomatic delegation of UN ambassadors from all over the world marching in New York’s Celebrate Israel Parade to honor the Jewish state’s 70th year of independence.

This year’s parade was held in conjunction with a concert in Central Park and a celebration in Times Square. The parade is a summer highlight for New Yorkers young and old, who gather in Manhattan to express support for Israel

Ambassador Danon was joined at the parade this year by ambassadors from Canada, Germany, Spain, Thailand, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Nigeria, Ukraine and Romania.

“I am pleased to initiate a new tradition of UN ambassadors marching in support of Israel at this important parade. Our adversaries may seek to harm us, but today we see the significance of our friends from around the world voicing their support for Israel in the most public of forums,” declared Danon.

In addition to foreign dignitaries, parade marchers included students and teachers from elementary and high schools, pro-Israel organizations, Israel’s ministers of Culture, Science and Immigration, and members of the Knesset.

The Governor of New York, the Mayor of New York City, and other American elected officials also participated in the event.
