A large bipartisan group of US senators is pushing a bill that supports the war against the anti-Israel BDS movement on the state level. We must ensure that it is voted into law.

Israel has long been targeted with economic warfare by anti-Israel organizations.

Congress has a proud history of defending the Jewish state from such attacks.

Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) recently introduced the Combating BDS Act of 2017 (S. 170), which would grant state and local governments the right to disassociate pensions and contracts from entities that boycott, divest from or sanction Israel.

The bill is supported by a bipartisan group of 19 senators.

“This legislation is an important step forward in reassuring Israel that we are protecting our shared national security interests, while also protecting our joint economic interests,” said Manchin. “This bipartisan legislation gives state and local governments a legal way to combat the shameful boycott, divestment and sanctions movement against Israel. Israel has been our strongest ally in the Middle East, and we need to send them a strong signal that we will do everything in our power to fight the BDS movement.”

More than 20 states are considering, or have passed, legislation targeting companies that comply with the BDS movement, and many countries around the world have introduced and passed similar laws.

We must ensure that this act is passed into law.

Please urge your senators to support the Combating BDS Act.
