Israeli Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein and UWI staff review the Jerusalem Declaration

A historic initiative supporting a united Jerusalem as the eternal, undivided capital of the Jewish People has garnered 600,000 signatures from across the globe and continues to grow exponentially.

The Jerusalem Declaration, a historic initiative presented to US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat in May – at the time bearing 500,000 signatures from around the world – is a global statement of support for a united Jerusalem as both the eternal capital of the Jewish People and the undivided capital of the State of Israel.

United with Israel (UWI), the world’s largest grassroots pro-Israel movement, published the Declaration in a thick, 1124-page hardcover book along with an introduction and the hundreds of thousands of names and nationalities of the signatories.

During the summer, UWI presented Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein and Education Minister Naftali Bennett each with a copy, although the number of signatories to the Declaration had already increased significantly.

Since then, the number has reached over 600,000 and continues to grow rapidly.

‘We’re Aiming for a Million’

We’re aiming for a million and it’s very realistic,” UWI founder Michael Gerbitz affirmed.

“It was most gratifying to see this tangible expression of the unwavering support of more than half a million of our friends from 168 countries around the world,” Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated in a letter addressed to Gerbitz just ahead of Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year.

“The people of Israel appreciate United with Israel’s advocacy, educational efforts and unflinching defense of the truth,” Netanyahu said.

Since the Jerusalem Declaration went live on United with Israel’s online platform several years ago, it has garnered support from individuals in 168 countries, including Arab states and other nations that are fiercely critical of Israel, all of whom are willing to stand with Israel in support of keeping Jerusalem united under permanent Israeli control.

The Jerusalem Declaration is historic in terms of being the largest display of grassroots support for a united Jerusalem. The ongoing online initiative can be viewed at www.jerusalemdeclaration.com.

With five million supporters around the world – that number, too, is increasing dramatically. United with Israel promotes global unity with the nation and land of Israel by spreading the truth about Israel, highlighting the positive global impact of Israeli technological and medical advances, fighting media bias, the BDS movement and online incitement and initiating calls to action that turn its followers into advocates for Israel.
