In yet another attack, two 13-year-old Arab girls stabbed an Israeli security guard at the entrance to a mall in Ramla.
Two Arab girls, aged 13, stabbed and wounded an Israeli security guard at the entrance to a mall in Ramla, in the center of Israel, on Thursday.
The two girls, aged 13, one carrying a school bag on her back, were stopped by a security guard for a routine check at the entrance to the mall. The two extracted knives and stabbed him, lightly wounding him in his hand and foot.
The security guard called for help, and together with other guards, managed to overpower the two. They were subsequently arrested and taken for questioning by police.
A police spokesman stated the two obtained Israeli citizenship.
Witnesses say the two terrorists shouted “Allahu Akbar” [“God is great” in Arabic] during the incident, a phrase often shouted by Muslim terrorists while carrying out attacks.
It appears they intended to carry out a much more severe attack on civilians inside the mall, but the security guard carried out his mission in an exemplary fashion and prevented it.
He was taken to Assaf Harofeh Hospital in Afula.
The town of Ramla is shared by both Jews and Muslims, and this attack has torn at the delicate fabric of coexistence enjoyed by all.
This incident was the latest in a long series of near-daily Palestinian terror attacks, which have plagued Israelis over the course of the past four-and-a-half months, claiming the lives of 30 victims and wounding some 300.
