Kerry defended Obama’s abandonment of Israel at the UN by claiming that nothing had changed in US policy and blaming the “settlers” for obstructing peace.

Defending President Barack Obama’s abstention on an anti-Israel resolution passed by the UN Security Council last Friday, Secretary of State John Kerry touched upon Palestinian incitement and terror, but mostly blamed Netanyahu government policies for the lack of a solution to the conflict.

Speaking at the State Department Wednesday, Kerry slammed the “settlers” – Jewish residents of eastern Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria – and expressed what he claims is a “fundamental reality.”

Without a two-state solution, he declared, “Israel can either be Jewish or it can be democratic. It cannot be both.”

Furthermore, it will never be at peace, he said.
