Former Palestinian negotiator Nabil Shaath complained that the Palestinians have lost the spotlight and the world’s attention thanks to Syrian refugees.

Shaath, a Fatah Central Committee member, adamantly asserted that “anything is better” than a peace process mediated by the US, which “has never been an honest broker” and is Israel’s “strategic ally.”

Shaath said that Europeans couldn’t care less if all the Syrians died, but had been forced to pay attention due to the wave of refugees and terror attacks on their shores.

Referring to the lack of attention the Palestinian cause has supposedly received due to the ongoing crisis in Syria, he cynically asked, “Do we have to hijack your planes and destroy your airports again to make you care about our cause?”
