Speaking ahead of the annual Jerusalem Day Israeli holiday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed the international community for attempting to divide Jerusalem and for ignoring the Jewish people’s historical connection to the ancient city and the Temple Mount.
The Jordanian decision could deal an embarrassing blow to Kerry, who had hailed the deal when it was announced. Israel and Jordan were keen to the idea, but it appears the Palestinians don’t want their violent activities recorded.
While workers claim they are repairing a water leak, Israeli organization “Students for the Temple Mount” called on the government to intervene and put an end to “this flagrant contempt for Israel’s holy sites.”
