The student government at George Washington University proposed a resolution calling on the university to divest from companies they say contribute to the “human rights abuses” of Palestinians in Judea and Samaria.
A black Jewish student responded with an incredibly powerful speech during the debate over the resolution, slamming the Student Association for not protecting students from hate and anti-Semitism.
Sadly, the divestment resolution against Israel passed.
Shortly after this Jewish student’s powerful speech, a vote in favor of censuring an anti-Semitic student senator failed. After failure to censure, the vast majority of Jewish students walked out.
This unbridled hostility is the unfortunate reality on campus today.
