“People of Gaza, take a good look at the pictures from the 2014 conflict – a picture is worth a thousand words,” a senior IDF officer warned.

The Hamas terror group, which rules the Gaza Strip, is again leading its residents towards utter destruction, the IDF warned.

Hamas on Monday night unleashed a barrage of over 400 rockets from Gaza aimed at civilian targets, killing one man and wounding 55 Israelis at various locations throughout the south.

Some 100 rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system. However, 23 structures inside Israeli communities were hit by the rickets

Warning of the consequences of such attacks, IDF Major General Kamil Abu Rokun, Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), sent Gaza’s residents an unequivocal message, cautioning that “the Hamas terrorist organization has crossed the red line in its violation of the sovereignty of the State of Israel and its citizens in recent hours, and the State of Israel will continue to respond harshly against any terrorist activity or rocket fire by the Hamas terrorist organization.”

“People of Gaza, take a good look at the pictures from the 2014 conflict – a picture is worth a thousand words,” Abu Rokun, wrote on COGAT’s Facebook page in Arabic.

He was referring to Israel’s counter-terrorism Operation Protective Edge conducted in the summer of 2014. Entire neighborhoods were destroyed during the fighting between IDF forces and Hamas terrorists. Over four years later, the Strip has not entirely recuperated from the massive destruction.

COGAT is the IDF unit responsible for implementing government policy in Judea and Samaria and vis-à-vis the Gaza Strip.
