Exploiting the religious fervor prevalent during Ramadan, Hamas TV will broadcast a special series promoting terrorism against Israel throughout that “holy month.”

During the upcoming Muslim holy month of Ramadan, an official Hamas-run television station will broadcast a series glorifying the “heroes fighting for Jerusalem,” the Israeli NRG new site reported on Sunday.

The show, titled “Gates of the Sky,” will begin airing on Al-Aqsa TV on May 27, the first day of Ramadan.

The month of Ramadan, observed by fasting from dawn till sunset, has a special status as the month of religious spirituality and devotion. However, in Muslim tradition it is also perceived as a month of Jihad, when Allah grants military victories to his believers.

Given the historic religious and military significance of Ramadan, Islamist groups, as well as some mainstream Arab organizations, escalate incitement to terrorism during this period.

Moreover, many Muslims remain at home and watch television while fasting, which increases their exposure to the hate content.

The series will feature, according to a promo, violent clashes between Palestinians on one side and Israeli “settlers” and IDF soldiers on the other.

“If you live in Jerusalem, you know the meaning of life,” one of the show’s actresses says in the promo. “You can die at any moment.”

Another actor says, “We must oppose them [the Jews] and open the gates of hell on them.”

Ramadan is often a time of increased tensions in Israel, with security forces on heightened alert for Palestinian terror attacks.
